Books and television shows like "Thirteen Reasons Why" have helped raise awareness to the plight of young people grappling with this serious social problem. As a parent, Kevin wanted to help raise awareness of this issue, way before the TV show was a major Netflix hit in early 2017. The thing about the central figure in this painting is that the view is uncertain whether she will go through with a final solution to this problem. Keeping the question open-ended is important to get viewers talking about positive solutions.

While this painting is beautifully painted, it is powerful and not easy for just anyone to look at on a regular basis because of its strong message.
